Razing Ravenswood

Early 20th-Century houses disappear in Ravenswood. In a single block just north of Irving Park eight have gone under the bulldozer's blade in the last 12 months. Old-growth joists and five-panel oak doors are mostly despoiled and carted to the dump. Rarely, the family home is dismantled for salvage but mostly they are just lost.
